“Contemporary culture requires automatons. And people are undoubtedly losing their acquired habits of independence and turning into automatons, into parts of machines. It is impossible to say where is the end of all this and where the way out— or whether there is an end and a way out. One thing alone is certain, that man’s slavery grows and increases. Man is becoming a willing slave. He no longer needs chains. He begins to grow fond of his slavery, to be proud of it. And this is the most terrible thing that can happen to a man.”   – George Gurdjief

You and I are alive at an extraordinary moment in time. As a result of the choices made by humanity over the last few thousand years…planetary issues, (issues that affect every single living being on Earth,) are now reaching what’s called a critical mass point.

A critical mass point, (also known as a tipping point,) is an evolutionary term that refers to a point in a process where energy has become so concentrated that the next moment in the process has the potential of being exponentially greater than all moments before it and sometimes even many of the moments that follow. It is often not perceived as a graceful occurrence because from our limited perspective, it seems to produce a sense of sudden impact and often fast moving effects that are usually experienced more as a calamity than a gift.

Over the last 11,000 years, it cannot be said that humanity, as a species, has made very many truly conscious or enlightened choices. That’s not to say that massive advances in science and technology haven’t occurred. They have, but even these huge accomplishments can’t cover up certain “innate” disabilities. For one, our DNA has still only been activated to one third of its capacity. On top of this, our brain and nervous system have essentially been held hostage by a profoundly powerful form of negative entrainment known as dualistic thinking. Hence, our focus and creative expression have remained literally locked “outside ourselves”. This has caused us to unconsciously restrict our search for the secret of this universe and our existence to the external or material world that can be seen with the physical eye. This is basically why the actualization of our full potential will most likely remain “locked up” until we rediscover that the infinite technology (who we really are) lies dormant inside every one of us.

When we reflect on the impact of a less than fully activated DNA, combined with dualistic thinking, it becomes easier to understand what is meant when we say that humanity is essentially asleep or in a dormant state of ultimate creativity. This dormancy also fosters a thorough and insidious amnesia which makes it almost impossible for us to know…

- who we really are – what we really are – why we really are – what and why this Earth is.

This pervasive sleep and amnesia has also caused us to live in a state of fear and insecurity where most of the time, we feel separate from other human beings…separate from ourselves…and separate from whatever or whomever we choose to refer to as God.

Our psychology is devastated by this dilemma and our general behavior proves this. Much of our habits and behavior are incredibly mechanical and we seem to learn from the ineffectiveness of our actions at a perilously slow rate. For the most part, our choices are more narcissistic than they are serving, more care-less than care-full, more focused on “power over” than on empowering, and usually more in the spirit of competition instead of collaboration and cooperation. And because our thoughts are restricted to a dualistic perspective, we are only able to perceive each moment as a similarity or a difference. This means that we are often not able to easily think outside the box,     and we often find it difficult to maintain contact with the larger picture of any moment.

Worst of all…our over dependence upon external focus makes it difficult, sometimes even threatening, to relax and enjoy the infinite possibilities that are the Self and Life. Basically, we are in a trance and every choice we make from within that trance tends to reinforce more than free us from our imprisonment.

After roughly 11,000 years of predominantly “unconscious” or “unawakened” choices… the cumulative effect of our actions is now reaching a critical mass point and every single living being and the Earth herself are now being simultaneously impacted by what we refer to as “planetary issues”…

- War

- Chronic violence between human beings outside of a war context

- Hunger

- Poverty

- Inaccessibility to clean drinking water

- Disease and the inaccessibility of natural tools for optimum health, well-being, and longevity

- Pollution of the ecosphere

- Depletion of natural resources

- An increase in dependency upon government as a modus for hope, leadership, and change

- An increase of elitist control over most of the world’s population

The above choices have caused a devastating lack of integration in the human body, mind and spirit. As a result, whenever we encounter a stressful moment, our lack of integration causes us to see crises instead of opportunities…disasters instead of gifts to help us evolve…and enemies instead of Life offering us new challenges outside the realm of our expectations and assumptions. Ultimately, our lack of integration causes us to react to Life primarily from fear instead of responding to Life with Love.

Obviously, it’s impossible to ever have any kind of truly accurate perspective as to where humanity or the Earth is at any moment in the process of evolution. However, it doesn’t take watching more than a few minutes of world news to understand that the pressure from the accumulation of thousands of years of unawakened choices is accelerating now. We have clearly entered into a phase of our evolution where the magnitude and severity of the present global problems can no longer be effectively remedied by a brilliant or ingenious individual, a socially conscious corporation, or governmental legislation. Instead, it is becoming increasingly clear that a global transformation of human consciousness may now be our only true solution.

Gaia, (the Earth herself,) seems to be telling us these days…

If you want to secure with any certainty the ongoing evolution of life on Earth for human beings….

Then…

Enlightenment, integration of body, mind and spirit, and the reestablishment of a state of oneness, interdependency, and coherence, must occur within a critical mass number of human beings.

It is crucial that any reader of this blog realizes that anything that’s posted on FreedomAndHealing.com is not another offering of a doom and gloom reaction to our present personal or planetary challenges. Not only do I see this time as the greatest opportunity that humanity has ever been given but I also do not see any single thing happening on Earth as being merely a consequence of our actions. Instead, I see every single occurrence as being a crucial and absolutely integral part of the process of evolution both of the Earth, herself, and humanity.

For the last 11,000 years, the search for and attainment of an authentic transformation of one’s consciousness has been primarily restricted to unique individuals who usually lived in seclusion and performed austere practices. However, due to the fact that humanity and the Earth, herself, are now reaching a critical mass point in terms of planetary issues, we are on the verge of being invited into a global transformation of consciousness by the combination of the evolutionary process that is within each one of us and the evolutionary process that is the Earth, herself.

Please try and understand that this is completely different from the process of personal enlightenment or awakening that has been known thus far on Earth. For the first time, literally in recorded history,  we are being invited to collectively awaken, realize, and live the bliss of a non-dual experience of Self and Life and have this experience no longer be restricted to being personal or private. This is happening because the evolutionary process of every individual human being is in fact an integral part of the evolutionary process of the Earth herself, and vice versa. Therefore, if we are finally willing to be humbled by the implications of this understanding, it becomes much clearer as to why a transformation of consciousness is to no longer be restricted to unique individuals but instead may now be required to be a global phenomenon in order for us to avoid extinction.

This also means that we are entering into a time when healing, (whether it be of the human body-mind or the ecosphere,) can only occur through the human attainment of freedom from the unawakened state. This freedom becomes consistently accessible only after a transformation of our consciousness has occurred. This explains why both our personal health, our optimum well being and the future of life as we know it on Earth have become inextricably woven into an evolutionary ultimatum that demands that we wake up now or… very possibly face both our personal and planetary demise.

Over the last 50 years, elders from communities such as the Hopi, Lakota, Maya, Inca, and many more, have been trying to explain to us how each of their lineages are effective conduits for ancient information that they feel is relevant for us at this time. Regardless which indigenous culture you explore, you will most likely find information that speaks about the time we are alive in right now as being one of the most supportive moments in the history of Earth for a global transformation of consciousness. Many elders refer to the present day as a time when human beings will literally become changed. They also refer to the present day as a time of tremendous potential. A time when who we really could finally be fully activated. All the elders say, in each of their own unique ways, that the process of individual awakening is inextricably woven into the evolutionary process known as the Earth and that is why…the shift that we are already in right now is given such a profound title… the Shift of the Ages.

FreedomandHealing.com was created and is facilitated by Michael Day.

Ever since 1969, most of my life has been pretty equally focused on the process of enlightenment and restoring balance and homeostasis to a body-mind that’s been physically challenged for 40 years. As a result of my life and consciousness being irrevocably altered by certain profoundly transformational events at ages 9, 12, 15, 19, 30, and 36; the connections between healing and freedom have always seemed obvious to me. In fact, over the last two decades, I have experienced Life relentlessly offering me the opportunity of one personal evolutionary ultimatum or tipping point after another. Each of these points in my process have been clearly inviting me to surrender into a total transformation of my personal consciousness. Especially lately, it seems increasingly obvious to me that nothing less than full integration of body, mind, and spirit will enable this body-mind to finally “catch up” to what occurred to this consciousness starting four decades ago, thereby finally and fully granting me the freedom and healing that I have been after.

While I don’t experience being given a personal message at this time like…“wake up or face possible extinction… the parallels between my personal process and the current planetary process make it clear that my (and everyone’s) personal quest for freedom and healing is an evolutionary microcosm of the process that is taking place planetarily.

This realization is at the core of my decision to try and facilitate this blog.

Because freedom and healing have always been so intimately interwoven in my present lifetime, this has caused me to primarily shun most of what allopathic medicine has to offer me except when absolutely necessary. The challenges I have experienced in my physical health have relentlessly prompted me to explore the consideration that the intensely programmed habit of regularly seeking the advice of medical doctors can actually solidify an insidious lie…that power or ultimate authority is not within us. I also believe, from experience, that when a doctor encourages us to trust them more than our own sense of what is happening within our body-mind, this can contribute to the solidification of the illusion that who we really are…is only the physical body. Concurrently, synthetic drugs (just like any sacred substance) can often act as subtle energetic/neurological triggers that can deepen our “trance state” thereby causing us to doubt and eventually forget the divinity and infinite healing that exists within every single one of us.

On the other side of the coin, as the extraordinary number of iatrogenic deaths and injuries continue to reveal the arrogance and impotence of much of allopathic medicine, we are undeniably opened by our pain and suffering into the realization that the foundations of natural medicine can offer us a profound path of reentry into faith, empowerment, and integration of body, mind and spirit.  Why? Because the foundation of natural medicine lies in the understanding that the body is truly capable of “healing itself”, and our solitary “job” is primarily to remove the multidimensional toxic elements that we accumulate from simply being alive and/or from diet and lifestyle habits. I have to admit that while I have experienced both in myself and through friendships with kindred souls that natural medicine can often be a tremendous aid when it comes to experiencing the divinity of who we really are, I have rarely heard anyone confess a similar experience who was utilizing primarily the methods of allopathy.

Until 2006, I practiced as a spiritually oriented psychotherapist for 30 years. I also have a 25 year professional background in natural medicine consulting and spiritual healing. My original training as a body centered counselor focused on methods such as Bioenergetics (Alexander Lowen), Primal Therapy (Janov), and The Option Method (DiMarsico). However, thousands of hours of intimate contact with Western mystics, and remarkable beings from India and Tibet,  transformed my psychotherapy practice into an offering of guidance for the process of awakening to who we really are. In many ways, I am eternally grateful that the traditional definition/role of psychotherapist was “removed” from me fairly early in life. Ever since this occurred, I have felt that I was both…a human being in recovery from having needed to be a therapist…and…in the words of my Central and South American mentors…I’ve been “an elder in training” ever since as well. In 1992, I received for the holistic qualities of my counseling work, one of the only two honorary PhDs ever given by one of the oldest colleges of natural medicine in the US, and I was ordained as a non-denominational minister. That same year, I started and facilitated for the next 14 years, an inner work community dedicated to world peace through ending the war within.

In 2006, my partner, Dovida, and I moved to Margarita Island, 25 miles off the coast of Caracas, Venezuela. My life on Margarita has enabled me to fully allow any North American professional roles to drop away, and primarily focus these days on writing and local projects. However, I still happily maintain daily interaction with people locally who feel comfortable with the style of guidance for the inner work that I offer. I also continue to happily interact with people elsewhere in the world who seek me out for similar reasons.

Freedom and Healing dot com is a mixture of editorial writing, reader participation (please do feel free to receive comments!), current events, and information sharing that will hopefully aid any reader with being able to deepen their understanding of the connections between the evolutionary process of individual human beings and the Earth, herself. Postings will include emerging trends, natural medicine, New World Order, DNA, the soul, technology, the messages or prophecies of elders of indigenous communities, crop circles and extra terrestrials, what it’s like to be a North American living in South America, economics and finance, President Obama, Hugo Chavez, other political figures and/or events.

Please do not look for consistency in the topic of each post because I sense (God willing…) that any real consistency or coherency will occur gradually over time as a result of my adherence to the context of this blog more than to the content of individual postings.

Dialogue is far more important to me than monologue..
