Back in the late eighties, the phenomenon known as Crop Circles entered my awareness. The first picture I ever saw had an immediate and life changing effect on me. Just by looking at the picture, I felt as if I was being directly communicated with by an intelligence that was instantly familiar. I didn’t hear or see anything inside me. It was more as if the communication that was happening was able to fly below the interpretive radar of my intellect and impact the core of my being. Very subtly, when I would look away from the picture, I could tell that my powers of perception were both the same as they’d always been and…somehow they were also now slightly different. Something about the experience felt absolutely intimate and personal and at the same time, whatever was being communicated or “downloaded” to me felt utterly universal. However, unlike statements in world religions that can be extremely confusing as a result of being so easily interpreted by each individual’s intellect, this crop circle seemed to be able to impart something that felt universal and true but I was totally unable to intellectualize or conceptualize the experience.
I immediately bought the magazine and once I’d returned home, I cut the picture out…framed it and placed it on an altar in my meditation room. Over the next few weeks, I took a little time each day, and sat in front of the picture doing sort of a soft gaze with it…allowing my eyes to become unfocused whenever they wanted to be. I found that after a week or so of doing this, it started to become easy to see the circle inside me. Shortly after this point, I found that whenever I had a decision to make, a challenge to face, etc., if I closed my eyes, and allowed the circle to arise inside, within a very short time, my relationship to whatever it was I had to face would often become transformed and a desired solution would become accessible. From these experiences, it seemed clear to me that crop circles can broadcast and instill a certain communication in any human being and is also a tool that can be used internally as well. After a few months, I began to find other pictures of crop circles as they began to show up in the less mainstream magazines. Soon, I’d acquired a collection of about a dozen circles.
The more circles that came into my life, the more I began to wonder how I might share these phenomena with others and I became especially curious as to whether or not they might play a part in my counseling and healing work. Having been trained in a few styles of kinesiology and having studied the ancient science of chakras, I started with friends and then later…with clients. Most of the time, I would use as a reference point, whether or not the crop circle picture seemed to strengthen or weaken each of their chakras and if one picture seemed to strengthen them the most, I’d send them home with that one. Within a few months, my more open minded clients were spending a few minutes a day gazing upon whichever picture they’d gone home with that week. Almost invariably, they’d each return to their next session not only in a new place in their process but I also detected what seemed like a subtle increase of wholeness… completeness… contentment in them. Each person I tested when they returned showed surprising strength in all seven chakras. Because I worked at the time with over 300 flower and gem essences, over the next year or two I began to get a sense that certain essences could be used in connection with certain crop circle pictures. Eventually, I started placing distilled water directly on pictures of crop circles and found that a frequency did seem to effectively structure the water. However, since we’re not able at this time, to really understand the frequency or frequencies that these circles do in fact transmit, the most I could do was note the impact these “circle essences” seemed to have and leave it with that.
Most of the time, when you hear stories about crop circles, they’re usually about noting that another one has occurred and, if relevant, what the circle looks like etc. I feel the tiny bit of research I did with crop circles over a period of about five years barely scratched the surface. However, my exploration proved to me that if we approach crop circles with an open mind and an open heart and are willing to fumble our way with a child-like innocence, we might be most surprised by the positive impact these circles can have on both our quest for optimum health and well-being and the potential transformation of our consciousness.
